– A presentation of memories, actions and messages by some of the most prolific and radical performance artists.

– An opportunity to give an afterlife to past live actions.

– A inclusive space where differences and diversities are produced and celebrated.

– An exploration of the unresolved dilemma of documenting live performances.

– A site that would like to enable, activate and facilitate fluid connections and artistic research.

– An ever-growing online gallery and archive of Manuel Vason‘s exchanges with other artists.

– A website that not only question the action of archiving live performances through photography but also query the politics of reading and interpreting performance documents.

The objective of calling this website Art Exchange is to emphasise on the collaborative nature of each image/action presented here. Each image is an artwork co-created between Manuel Vason and another artist-collaborator-performer.

Since 1999, Manuel Vason has been working closely with contemporary practitioners to create distinctive photographic artworks. These images/actions have been conceived in the spirit of EXCHANGE between artists, art forms and mainly with YOU, the viewer.
